Upcoming & Announced

2 New Lines · Announced 2026

As of May 2026, two entirely new Elric RPG lines have been announced simultaneously — marking the most active period for new Young Kingdoms licensing in over a decade.

Announced May 2026
Legends of Stormbringer
Publisher: Free League Publishing
System: Dragonbane ruleset (Free League's own fantasy RPG engine)
Planned Release: 2027

Based on Michael Moorcock's iconic fantasy works. Free League is well known for Forbidden Lands, Twilight: 2000, and Dragonbane itself. This will be a full standalone game — the first Stormbringer-line title from a Scandinavian publisher. Announced via Free League's Facebook page in May 2026.
Announced May 2026
Classic Era Elric
Publisher: Goodman Games
Systems: D&D 5th Edition & Dungeon Crawl Classics (DCC)
Planned Release: TBA (announced ~390 days out from May 2026)

Based directly on the classic Elric novels. Goodman Games are known for their OSR sensibility and lavish production values in the DCC line. This will be the first Elric product for D&D 5e and for the DCC system — announced by Joe Goodman in May 2026.

Board & Wargames

3 Games

Beyond the RPG line, three board and wargames have been officially published in the Young Kingdoms setting — the first predating the Stormbringer RPG by four years.

Elric (board game)
1977 · Chaosium
The very first licensed Elric game ever produced — a wargame set in the Young Kingdoms, published by Chaosium four years before the RPG. Now extremely rare; collector copies sell for $250 and up.
Elric: Battle at the End of Time
1980s · Chaosium
A boardgame depicting the apocalyptic final battle of the Young Kingdoms. Sought after by collectors — good condition copies typically sell for $55 or more.
Elric: Young Kingdoms Adventure Game
1990s · Avalon Hill
Published by Avalon Hill, not Chaosium — an adventure boardgame set across the Young Kingdoms. A notable departure in publisher for the license.
